- Very formable/conformable
- Thermally and electrically conductive
3M™ Lead Tape 420 is a silver, lead-containing adhesive tape coated with a distinctive green rubber-resin adhesive that provides good initial tack and long-lasting adhesion, while removing cleanly from most surfaces. It is an extremely conformable and flexible adhesive tape that can be formed into detailed and intricate shapes and patterns. The lead backing material can be burnished to fully cover the adhesive and enable full contact of the lead foil with the metal substrate. This metal-to-metal contact continues the electrical path and reduces deposits at the bonded area. The adhesive tape is formulated to be electrically and thermally conductive and to provide strong resistance to acids and bases, making it ideal for electroplating or as radiation shielding. Application ideas: radiation barrier, moisture barrier, chemical milling. Weight and balance of equipment parts, golf clubs, tennis rackets, etc.
